Message of Stephanie Smith
On this International Workers’ Day and on behalf of the more than 73,000 members of the BC Government and Service Employees’ Union I’d like to send solidarity greetings to our friends in Iran.
We know that being a labour activist in Iran is not only challenging but is dangerous because of the outrageous anti-union sentiment and actions of your government. Know that we stand with you- that we continue to fight for your right to represent the workers of Iran and that we will not back down.
Labour rights are human rights and we will not stop fighting until this is recognized by all countries. We continue to live and act by the credo- what we want for ourselves we desire for all.
