Statement of the Workers’ Solidarity Network of the Middle East and North Africa, On the Occasion of May 1st, International Workers’ Day

by admin_shahla

Long Live May 1st, International Workers’ Day!

May 1st is the international day of solidarity for all workers around the world.

May day is a day for demonstrating solidarity among hundreds of millions workers who produce all of society’s wealth, but subsist in poverty and deprivation themselves. Workers do not accept this exploitation, deprivation, and lack of rights.

This year we celebrate May Day at a time when we see the global crisis of capitalism has turned the politics of austerity measures into the official policy of governments in both Western countries and in the countries of the Middle East.
In the face of this darkness, we see the worldwide movements and protests against capitalism like protesting workers and people in Iran, Tunisia, Morocco, and around the region.

In our bi-polar and class-structured world, the only alternative for working people to have a decent life is the socialist alternative. This situation calls for working class response. May 1st is the moment for the working class to rise up to represent the vast ranks of the world’s oppressed.

“The Workers’ Solidarity Network of the Middle East and North Africa” seeks to represent the voice of the working class movement for freedom in The Middle East and North Africa. Hand in hand with workers all around the world, we welcome International Workers’ Day. The Workers’ Solidarity Network seeks to amplify the voices of broad social movements encompassing workers, teachers, and society as a whole in the struggle against poverty. It seeks to be the voice of protesting jailed labour activists and prisoners. It works to be the voice of freedom and humanity in the face of government repression and executions in Iran. The Workers’ Solidarity Network echoes the voices of workers and deprived people of Egypt, Iraq, Morocco, Afghanistan, Turkey, and all workers in region. “The Workers’ Solidarity Network of the Middle East and North Africa” seeks to be the voice of freedom and equality against the capitalist ruling class and its cannibals-for-hire, the Islamic State. We demand a humane life for all the people of region and the world.

The Workers Solidarity Network of the Middle East and North Africa offers its warm congratulations on May Day, International Workers’ Day, to all.
