The truck drivers’ strike in Iran has expanded to 258 cities in its ninth day. In the past few days, at least 127 drivers in different provinces have been arrested by the armed forces.
The drivers have been accused of “disrupting order and security”, and “acting against national security”. The workers demand immediate release of their workmates.
After failure of the authorities to meet the legitimate demands of the workers, as the last resource, the judiciary has stepped in and called the striking workers and their supporters “the opposition” so that they can fight the workers and end the strike by armed forces.
Despite the pressure the truck drivers’ strike goes on strongly and with determination to release their workmates, claim their rights, and putting an end to the repressions.
“Free Them Now” calls for condemning these arrests and the threat and repression of the worker’s protests in Iran and calling for the immediate release of detained striking drivers.
Please send your protest letters to Islamic regime’s authorities. We appreciate if you send a copy to Free Them Now address.
