The downing of passenger aircraft, and eruption of social protests in Iran

by admin_shahla

The Ukrainian air plane was downed intentionally by the Islamic regime of Iran on Wednesday January 8. All 176 passengers and crew were killed.

After 3 days denials and peddling of lies, and once undeniable evidences was released by international experts, the Islamic regime of Iran admitted that they have shot down the Ukrainian air plane by a missile. Still they are covering up some facts about this catastrophe. For example a video clip released by somebody that is taken on the scene and the time of downing of the plane, shows not “one” missile but two missiles were fired at the aircraft within 30 seconds. The plane captain had tried to return to the airport after the first shot but the second missile put it on fire completely. So the Iranian authorities are lying about the missiles. Experts claim that it has not been difficult to recognise that the plane was a passenger aircraft and not a military one and even if we accept that the first missile was shot unintentionally, the second one cannot be just a mistake. There are some other facts too that shows the regime’s contradictions about the missile shootings and the catastrophic event. The Islamic regime’s military statement said the plane had turned towards a “sensitive military centre” of the Revolutionary Guards, a force set up to defend the country’s Islamic system. The statement said it had the “flying posture and altitude of an enemy target”.
This is another lie by the Islamic regime. Ukraine International Airlines denies that the plane veered from its expected course before the crash.

The Islamic regime of Iran has a long history of terrors and crimes inside and outside of Iran. It seems that this tragedy is the latest intentional crime of this regime against the humanity. The reason is not completely clear yet. But this regime does not need clear reasons for deciding to kill people easily. When they are lying and lying in every explanation, it is clear that something serious is going on behind the scene that they are trying cover up. They have even arrested the person who captured the moment that missiles were shot towards the plane.

In Tehran and many other cities in Iran protests erupted after the news of downing of the air plane by missiles. Thousands rushed to the streets angrily and chanted slogans against the regime and demanded the resignation of Khamene ei the supreme leader of regime who is officially top commander of government’s all military forces. The social situation is still very explosive and people are protesting sporadically here and there.
The downing of the passenger air plane and killing of 176 passengers and crew should be condemned by all people, workers and humanist organisations and governments in the world, and all the authorities and people responsible for this criminal act should be tried in public international courts and all aspects of this tragedy should be explained to the public.
