CUPE BC re:2019 Mahshahr Massacre Remembrance Rally – November 14 th , 2020

by admin_shahla

On behalf of the CUPE BC International Solidarity Committee, I am writing to express solidarity to
the struggling of workers in Iran. We have been monitoring the status of Iranian workers and human
rights movements through the “Free Them Now” network, and are well-informed of the collective
efforts of Iranian workers, teachers, and nurses towards livable wages and pension security. We
support the women’s movement, student movement, and Iranian citizens in their fight for freedom.
We are also aware of the brutal crackdown by the Islamic regime in Iran against its own people, as
evidenced by the murder of Neda Agha Soltan, Pouya Baktiari, and Navid Askari. We are also
deeply saddened by the Mahshahr massacre which took place last November.
The CUPE BC International Solidarity Committee extends its support to your planned event on
November 14 th at the Vancouver Art Gallery in commemoration of those killed during the Mahshahr
massacre. We wish you victory in your struggle for freedom and justice on behalf of the Iranian
people.
In solidarity,

Andrew Ledger
