Help Save Abbas Deris, father of three children, from execution by the Islamic regime of Iran!
The Islamic regime in Iran announced the death sentence of Abbas Deris for participating in the November 2019 protests.
Abbas Deris was arrested in Mahshahr in November 2019 and is currently being held in Mahshahr Prison. His brother Mohsen Deris has also been sentenced to life in prison for participating in the November 2019 protests. A few months ago, Abbas Deris’ wife died of a stroke due to psychological stress caused by the news of Deris’ death sentence. Abbas Deris’ three children are currently cared for by their grandmother.
The Islamic regime has tortured Abbas Deris and subjected him to falsely confess to the murder of a member of the Special Police Unit. This is a common method used by the regime in Iran to force prisoners to make false confessions so they can sentence them to death. The Islamic regime used the same method to execute, an Iranian wrestling champion, Navid Afkari, the regime tortured Navid and forced him to confess to a crime he had never committed.
The attempt to execute Abbas Deris is the continuation of years of the crackdown on protesters in Iran. The city Deris is from, Mahshahr is known for the massacre the Islamic regime committed during the protests of November 2019. The regime issues execution sentences for the protesters in an attempt to create fear among people to prevent further protest. The regime’s method has never worked, as every day, we witness further protests against the Islamic regime in Iran.
We must stop the execution of Abbas Deris. We demand that his brother be acquitted and released.
In recent days, many grieving mothers whose loved ones were killed by the Islamic regime have widely protested against the death sentence of Abbas Deris on social media and called on the people to stop his execution.
We call on all concerned individuals and organisations in Iran and across the world to take action to save Abbas Deris.

• Record and publish a short video clip on social media demanding the overturn of Abbas Deris’ death sentence. Please provide us with a copy of the clip you prepared.
