Several teachers and workers have been arrested
May 1st this year in Iran was a scene of people’s unity over their lives and unanswered demands, against the Islamic regime.. The call for nationwide rallies on this day by teachers and retirees got good responses from the different sections of the people who expressed their support and solidarity, and this mass support alarmed the government. Therefore, on the eve of May Day the regime increased its arrests and threats and summonses, and tried to prevent the celebration of the International Workers Day. But despite all the repression, International Workers’ Day rallies were held in more than 50 cities. Workers and teachers and retirees, created another unforgettable May Day this year. Thus, May 1st this year in Iran became a day of defeat for the barbaric Islamic regime and a day of unity and solidarity of the various sections of the working class.
On the eve of International Workers’ Day, a number of teachers, retirees and protesting activists were arrested by the security forces. Under the pressure of the teachers’ protests and a protest atmosphere, a number of people were released. However, a number of detainees are still in prison, whose names according to the latest reports are these: Jafar Ebrahimi, Ali Akbar Baghani, Rasoul Badaghi and Mohammad Habibi from Tehran, Mahmoud Malaki, Mohsen Omrani, Amanifar and Asghar Hajib from Bushehr, Massoud Nik khah and Eskandar Lotfi from Marivan, Mansour Erfanian and Hadi Sadeghzadeh from Mashhad, Mahmoudi from Aligudarz, Hossein Salami from Mazandaran and Latif Roozikhah from Jolfa
In addition to the teachers, Osman Ismaili, a well-known figure, was arrested on the first of May. Also some other activists mostly retirees were arrested, whose exact names are not yet known.
A campaign for the release of those arrested is already underway. Ismail Abdi, a well-known imprisoned teacher, has started a one-month hunger strike since May 1st, to protest the arrests and escalating security crackdowns on teachers. Meanwhile, in several cities, including Aligudarz, Sanandaj, Saqez, and Tabriz, teachers have gathered and protested, demanding the release of their detained colleagues and all detainees on International Workers’ Day, and these protests continue.
Free Them Now (FTN) along with teachers and workers, along with Ismail Abdi, who a couple years ago started the campaign against securitising the protests, and in unison with all people, emphasizes the immediate and unconditional release of all those arrested on International Workers’ Day. .
May Day gatherings and celebration is the inalienable right of all workers and people. The Islamic regime must be condemned internationally for violating the basic rights of the people. Free Them Now calls on all trade unions and humanitarian organizations around the world to express their disgust with the repression and to put pressure on the Islamic regime to release all detainees on May 1 without any condition.
Especially now that the (ILO) annual summit is nearing, we must put pressure on this organization, to end its appeasement with this barbaric regime. The Islamic government must be isolated internationally and expelled from the ILO for violating the basic rights of the workers and people of Iran and for all its crimes. We call on all international organizations to join us and be the voice of the workers and the protesting people in Iran.

دستگیر شدگان اول مه باید فورا و بدون قیدو شرط آزاد شوند
اول مه امسال در ایران صحنه جدال مردم بر سر زندگی و معیشت و خواستهای پاسخ نگرفته شان با حکومت بود. فراخوان برای تجمعات سراسری به مناسبت این روز از سوی معلمان و بازنشستگان و اعلام همبستگی ها حکومت اسلامی را بشدت به هراس انداخته بود. از همین رو رژیم در آستانه روز جهانی کار بر دستگیری ها و احضارهایش افزود و تلاش کرد با تهدید و ارعاب مانع گرامیداشت روز جهانی کارگر در ایران شود. اما علیرغم همه این سرکوبگری ها تجمعات روز جهانی کارگر در بیش از ۵۰ شهر برگزار شد. بدین ترتیب اول مه امسال در ایران به روز شکست جمهوری اسلامی و یک روز با شکوه، تاریخی و فراموش نشدنی اتحاد و همبستگی بخشهای مختلف طبقه کارگر و معلمان و بازنشستگان تبدیل گردید.
در آستانه و در جریان تجمعات روز جهانی کارگر تعدادی از معلمان و بازنشستگان و فعالین معترض توسط نیروهای حکومت دستگیر شدند. زیر فشار تجمعات اعتراضی معلمان و فضای اعتراضی جامعه شماری آزاد گردیدند. اما هنوز تعدادی از بازداشت شدگان در زندانند که اسامی آنها بر اساس آخرین گزارشات عبارتند از: جعفر ابراهیمی، علی‌اکبر باغانی، رسول بداقی و محمد حبیبی از تهران، محمود ملاکی ، محسن عمرانی، امانی فر و اصغر حاجب از بوشهر، مسعود نیکخواه و اسکندر لطفی از مریوان، منصور عرفانیان و هادی صادق زاده از مشهد، محمودی از الیگودرز، حسین سلامی از مازندران و لطیف روزیخواه از جلفا
علاوه بر معلمان در روز جهانی کارگر در سقز نیز عثمان اسماعیلی این چهره شاخص اول ماه مه ها بازداشت شده است. همچنین افرادی دیگر که عمدتا از بازنشستگان هستند بازداشت شده اند که هنوز اسامی دقیق آنها در دست نیست
کارزاری گسترده برای آزادی دستگیر شدگان از هم اکنون به جریان افتاده است. اسماعیل عبدی از معلمان شناخته شده زندانی در اعتراض به دستگیری ها و تشدید فشارهای امنیتی بر روی معلمان از روز اول مه به مدت یک ماه اعلام اعتصاب کرده است. معلمان در همین فاصله با تجمعات اعتراضی خود در شهرهای مختلف از جمله در الیگودرز، سنندج، سقز، تبریز خواستار آزادی همکاران بازداشتی و دستگیر شدگان روز جهانی کارگر شده اند و این اعتراضات ادامه دارد.
کمپین برای آزادی کارگران زندانی (FTN) همراه با معلمان و کارگرن، همراه با اسماعیل عبدی که از پرچمداران کارزار علیه امنیتی کردن مبارزات بوده است و همصدا با همه مردم، بر آزادی فوری و بدون قید و شرط تمامی دستگیر شدگان روز جهانی کارگر تاکید میکند.
برپایی اول مه حق مسلم همه کارگران و مردم است. برپایی تجمع و اعتراض و اعتصاب حقوق پایه ای مردم جامعه است. جمهوری اسلامی بخاطر نقض حقوق پایه ای مردم باید در سطح بین المللی محکوم شود. کمپین برای آزادی کارگران زندانی از همه اتحادیه های کارگری و نهادهای انساندوست در سطح جهان میخواهد انزجار خود را از این سرکوبگریها اعلام کنند و به جمهوری اسلامی فشار بیاورند که تمامی بازداشت شدگان اول مه را بدون پرونده سازی و بدون قیدو شرط آزاد کند. بویژه اکنون که در آستانه اجلاس جهانی سازمان جهانی کار (آی ال او ) هستیم باید به این سازمان که به اسم کارگر سخن میگوید، فشار آورد که به مماشات خود با این حکومت خاتمه دهد. حکومت اسلامی بخاطر نقض حقوق پایه ای کارگران و مردم ایران و بخاطر همه جنایاتش باید در سطح بین المللی منزوی شود و از سازمان جهانی کار اخراج گردد . ما از همه سازمانهای جهانی میخواهیم که به ما بپیوندند و صدای کارگران و مردم معترض در ایران باشند.
