Today, on the second day of the three-day nationwide protests against the Islamic regime, strikes were ongoing in all provinces in Iran. In addition to the nationwide strike in shops and markets, workers are on strike in several major industries. Several thousands of Isfahan Steel Company went on strike and marched, chanting “Don’t think it’s just today, we decided for three days!”, “If our problem is not solved, the factory will be closed”.
Workers of Sanandaj Petrochemical, Sepahan Cement, Sepahan Shahr City Center are on strike. The workers of Daroogar pharmaceutical in Tehran gathered today to protest the non-payment of about 4 months of salary and 5 months of unpaid insurance premiums. In Mashhad, city bus drivers have also joined the strike. According to the reports, Sepahan Cement employees also went on strike and three of the current managers of the factory, who are members of Ghadir Holding affiliated to the Revolutionary Guards IRGC, the deputy CEO of the factory, Peymani, the vice president of human resources, and the vice president of finance, were expelled from the factory by the workers.
The strike of truck drivers continues in many provinces in the country.
According to the news so far, Tehran Grand Bazaar and stores in most areas in Tehran and in different cities are on strike for the second day. In many cities, the market is completely on strike and shut. Yesterday more than 100 cities joined the general strike. Today the reports published so far mention strikes in these cities, among others: Tehran, Bojnord, Mashhad, Borujen, Marvdasht, Shiraz, Isfahan, Najaf Abad, Shahinshahr, Zarinshahr, Saqqez, Baneh, Marivan, Ravansar, Nobahar, Kermanshah, Javanrud, Paveh, Diwandareh, Sanandaj, Qorveh, Dehgolan, Oshnavieh, Mahabad, Kamiyaran, Tabriz, Ardabil, Abhar, Zanjan, Urmia, Chahbahar, Nobandian, Bazarche Marzi, Bushehr, Izeh, Bandar Abbas, Hamadan, Bandar Anzali, Lahijan, Sari, Rasht, Islamabad, West (Shabad), Kermanshah, Javanrud, Karand Gharb, Hajiabad, Arak, Kazeroon, Kerman, Shahrbabak, Ilam, Hafshajan, Yazd, Yasouj.
Today, according to the previous call, the universities are on strike too, and the students of Sanandaj Technical and Vocational University, Faculty of Environment, Sanandaj Girls’ Technical University, Khorasgan University, Najaf Abad, Tiriz, Khomeini Shahr, North Tehran and Allameh Tabatabai Azad Universities, announced their strike. In Allameh University, suspended students wanted to enter the university, but the doors of the university were closed to them. In solidarity to, the students inside the university stood up to support the suspended students. The students of Sharif University of Technology gathered and sang the “Hymn of Freedom”. Students of Electrical Engineering Faculty of Khajeh Nasir University also gathered and chanted protest slogans.
On the other hand, the Coordinating Council of Cultural Trade Union Organizations that organises the teachers in the country, has announced its support for the three-day strike and protests from 5th to 7th December. In many schools, children have not gone to school, including in Sanandaj, schools are completely closed. In many places, the news of student protest gatherings has been reported.
With these protests, and strikes by workers, teachers, businesses and students the people in Iran unanimously and resolutely declare their determination to get rid of the barbaric Islamic regime. Long live “Woman, Life, Freedom”
