All detainees of the revolution should be released
On March 16, Hossein Ramzanpour, one of the teachers of Bojnoord city, was arrested at his workplace .
On March 12, Zainab Hamrang, a retired teacher who was released five months ago, was arrested again. After her arrest, she was transferred to Evin prison.
On the morning of March 19, 2023 Soleyman Abdi, a member of the Kurdistan Teachers’ Union of Saqqez and Ziviye branches, was arrested by security forces at his home.
On October 12, Javad Lal Mohammadi was arrested in Mashhad to serve his prison sentence. He has three cases, in the last of which he was sentenced to eight years in prison.
On June 8, 2022, Mehdi Fathi was transferred to Adelabad prison in Shiraz to serve his eight years prison sentence.
Esmail Abdi, the former Secretary General of Iran’s Teachers’ Trade Association and a progressive member of teachers’ movement, has been in prison for eight years now, despite the court order which said he was supposed to be released in September 2019. According to the Islamic Penal Code, the suspended sentence was turned into punishment after 1 year and 7 months of imprisonment and he is still in the central prison of Karaj.
Also, Rasoul Bodaghi, another member of teachers’ union, has been in prison for nine months with two cases, and he was imprisoned for seven years before and has been fired from his job.
Hashem Khastar, the Head of city of Mashhad Teachers’ Union, has been sentenced for 16 years prison and he has been in prison since May 2019.
Mohammad Hosein Sepehri, another teacher, was sent to prison on August 11, 2019 to serve a six-years sentence.
Teachers are struggling and campaigning to release their fellow teachers.
Free Them Now (FTN) the campaign to free jailed workers in Iran, emphasizes the immediate release of all imprisoned teachers.. The Islamic regime should be boycotted globally for all its crimes and expelled from all international bodies, including ILO and the International Convention on the Rights of the Child.
