28th March: Protest Gatherings Of Teachers And Retirees In Several Cities
Today, the 28th of March, teachers in various cities such as Zanjan,
Kermanshah, Malayer, Tabriz, Bojnord and Ardabil gathered in front of the
Education Department to protest the lack of response to their demands and the
repressions of the government and to pursue their demands. With this gathering,
teachers whistled the beginning of teacher protests in new Persian year 1402.
The demands announced by the teachers in their protests including are: full
implementation of ranking and equalization and salary increase above the
family cost basket, which is more than 30 million tomans/month today, free
quality and non-ideological education, free health care for all, and having the
right to housing, ending the embezzlement plots for the cultural reserve fund
and all embezzlement and theft, the job security for informal teachers and
servants and paying 1,400 tomans to retirees’ bonuses, ending the securitizing of
the protests and the release of imprisoned teachers and the return to work of the
dismissal teachers, and cancelling of all security cases filed against them,
ending the imprisonment of the protesting students and ending the detention of
students and returning expelled students and marked students to their classes.
Today, also social security retirees gathered in Ahvaz city to protest against the
poor living conditions and the lack of handling of their claims against social
security. The retirees were chanting: “Only on the street floor, we will get our
rights”, “Raisi the liar, where is the result of your promieses?”, “Inflation, high
prices, the bane of people’s lives”, “We will not sit down until we get our rights.
