On May 14, social security retirees in the cities of Kermanshah, Isfahan, Ahvaz, Kerman, Shushtar, Shiraz, and Shush protested and gathered in front of the office of the Social Security Organization to pursue their demands and started a march. This rally was held in protest against poverty, high prices and insecurity and to follow up their demands. In Shush, retirees of this city, and Karkheh and HaftTappeh gathered in front of social security office, and a number of families also participated in the protest rally.
– On this day, steel retirees gathered in Alborz West (Steel) and in Tehran against poverty and to pursue their demands. Salary increase above 25 million Tomans and free medical treatment are two important demands of all retirees, which they emphasized in their protests.
– On May 13, the pensioners of Ahvaz Oil Company went on strike and stopped work in protest against the low level of salaries and the government’s wage resolution.
– On the 13th of May, the official workers of Haft Tappeh sugarcane gathered and protested in front of the management office for the fifth consecutive day in protest of low wages and the lack of full implementation of equalization of their salaries with other companies. Under the pressure of these protests, the management asked the workers to give him a few days’ time to implement their demands, and the workers temporarily ended their gatherings and announced that if they do not see the proper response, they will resume their gatherings.
– On May 13, Mashhad fire-fighters went on strike in protest against low wages and difficult working conditions and gathered in front of the governor’s office. In this regard, these workers had a strike and gathering in the previous month as well. As a result, the management paid them 20 hours of overtime.
