The Islamic regime of Iran should be expelled from ILO

Free Them Now the campaign to free jailed workers in Iran (FTN) struggles to expel the Islamic regime of Iran from the ILO ). The presence of this anti-worker, anti-human, criminal and murderer regime in an organization that bears the name of workers is shameful.
The foundations of this government are laid on the execution and killing of workers and people. There are many cases of execution of children, organising and sponsoring terrorism at the international level and very heinous crimes against humanity in this regime’s record, the shooting missiles at a Ukrainian passenger plane and killing of its 176 people on board on January 2020, the killing of 1,500 people in the popular uprising in October 2019, and the killing of hundreds of people during the “woman, life, freedom” protests, each alone should be enough to defend the expulsion of this regime from ILO and from all the international organisations and its global boycott.
In September 2022, the Islamic regime killed Ms Mahsa Amini just because of Islamic hijab. In protest against this brutal murder, hundreds of thousands of people poured to the streets with all the anger and hatred that been accumulated through 44 years of rule of terror, plunder, systematic crimes and oppression, and this was the beginning of the “women life freedom” revolution. The government stood up to the peaceful protests by suppressing and mass killings, and as a result, hundreds of men and women and even children were killed. According to the statistics of international sources, during 5 months of protests more than 500 people were directly shot and killed by government mercenaries, 60 of whom children.
Right now, every day several prisoners are executed in Sistan and Baluchestan province in eastern Iran. Right now, every day, girls’ schools are subjected to chemical attacks, and so far three children have died as a result of these attacks. The list is very long. In prisons, women, girls and children are raped and many are killed under torture.
In the Islamic fascist regime, workers do not have the right to form their own unions and independent organizations. Workers basically do not have the right to strike, protest or organize.
It is celar that the minimum defend of the workers and the labor movement means defending the expulsion of this anti-labor regime from ILO. Just as the Nazi Germany representatives were kicked out from ILO in the 1930s, just as the Islamic regime was expelled from the UN Commission on the Status of Women, last year, in the same way this regime should be kicked out from ILO today.
Free Them Now (FTN) calls on all trade unions and humanitarian organizations in the world to join us and support the expulsion of this regime and all its representatives from ILO on the eve of this organisation’s annual conference.
