Let’s come out to the streets on the global day of support for political prisoners in Iran (June 20th)
The Campaign to free Political Prisoners in Iran (CFPPI), the International Committee Against Execution (ICAE), and Free Them Now, the Campaign To Free Jailed Workers in Iran (FTN) call upon all of you, the people, by holding various demonstrations and gatherings against the increasing wave of executions in Iran and for the release of all loved ones in jail, let’s come to the streets.This day coincides with the anniversary of the bloody suppression of 30th of Khordad (June 20th 1981). This year, in a situation where the Islamic regime intensifies executions, imprisonments, and torture in an attempt to suppress the revolution, it is of great importance to hold a powerful and nationwide commemoration.
The occasion of the World Day of Support for Political Prisoners in Iran, which was declared by Campaign to free Political Prisoners in Iran (CFPPI), 13 years ago, reminds us of the extensive crimes of the Islamic regime on the (June 20,1981), during which thousands of opponents of the government were brutally massacred. Forty-two years after that bloody suppression, the Islamic regime is facing the people who have stood up against this government with a massive uprising and have brought the Islamic regime to the brink of collapse through a revolution that has gained international support. The Islamic regime, which has no answer to the demands and problems of the people, has resorted to the execution rope to confront the woman revolution and seeks to save itself from the brink of destruction by intensifying executions and further use of imprisonment and torture. Let us unite together and make the last bloody efforts of the Islamic regime end in defeat, paving the way of the revolution under slogan of “Woman Life Freedom” for a decisive victory.
As the signatory organizations of this call, we invite everyone to protest and hold united rallies against the execution and repression of the regime on Saturday, June 17th (27th of Khordad) in Iran and around the world. Let us become the voice of all our loved ones who are in captivity or facing the danger of execution under the Islamic Republic.
On the eve of the anniversary of the bloody suppression of the 30th of Khordad 1360 (June 20, 1981), which is the World Day of Support for Political Prisoners in Iran, let’s take action wherever we are and gather in the squares on Saturday, June 17th (27th of Khordad) to demand the freedom of all political prisoners and protest against executions in Iran. Let this day become a demonstration of the united power of the people, who are standing in rows against the criminal Islamic regime in dozens of cities around the world. Let the Islamic regime understand, through our global solidarity with political prisoners and protesters sentenced to death, that we will never leave our loved ones alone and we will strive for the immediate freedom of all of them. Let us raise our voices everywhere to declare that the Islamic regime, as the murderer of the people of Iran, should not be recognized by any international authority and must be completely expelled and boycotted. .
All political and ideological prisoners must be unconditionally released! The heinous and inhumane capital punishment under any excuse or crime, as well as all punishments of medieval Islam, must be abolished. All death sentences must be immediately revoked!
