July 11 – According to the news published by the Oil Contract Workers’ Protest Organizing Council, on July 11, the workers at Reitoun Company, the contractor of Aria Sasol’s petrochemical polymer projects in Asaluyeh, protested against the non-payment of their salaries for six months and the failure to fulfill the contractor’s promises. They went on strike and closed the entry and exit gates of Aryasassol and prevented any entry and exit of employees and machines. It is said that under the pressure of the workers’ protest, the contractor promised to pay the workers’ wages by next week. The workers have announced that they will not end their strike until their arrears are paid. 400 workers are employed in this company.
July 11- A group of Dehloran petrochemical project workers gathered in front of the Dehloran governorate to protest the closure of this project and the unemployment of about 2,000 workers.
July 11, The retired teachers started gathering and protesting in continuation of their protest against poverty and high prices and pursuing their demands. According to reports, these protests and gatherings have been held in the cities of Sanandaj, Karaj, Yazd, Ardabil, Kermanshah, Mamsani and Dehloran. The pensioners angrily shouted their protest slogans, “Complete assimilation is our absolute right”, “The imprisoned teacher should be freed”, “Free education is the right of all children”, and “We will not accept humiliation, even if we die”. In these gatherings, protesting pensioners held banners and demands such as “livelihood, dignity, our inalienable rights”, “the imprisoned teacher must be freed”, and “free education is the right of all”.
The equalization of salaries and its increase above the poverty line, free health care, free education for all children, an end to security cases against the protesters and the release of all jailed teachers, and an end to embezzlement and theft are among the demands announced by retired teachers in their gatherings.
On July 10, telecommunications retirees gathered in several cities as previous Mondays. These gatherings were held in the cities of Tehran, Shiraz, Sanandaj, Kermanshah, and Mashhad, in front of the telecommunication buildings in these cities. Implementation of equalization and increase of salaries above the poverty line and free health care are two urgent and nationwide demands of all retirees.
July 9- At ten o’clock in the morning on July 9, social security retirees gathered in front of the social security building in several cities in continuation of their Sunday protests. These gatherings were held in the cities of Kermanshah, Shush, Haft Tappeh and Ahvaz in protest against the dire living conditions and embezzlements and thefts from the Social Security Fund’s pension fund. In Shush and Ahvaz, retirees marched and chanted slogans throughout the city.
