Today, the dismissed workers were returned to work

Today, Saturday, December 30, on the 8th day of strong protests by the workers of Iran’s National Steel Group in Ahvaz, all parts of this 3,000- workers complex are still on strike. The workers gathered and marched by blocking all entrance and exit doors of the company and emphasized the return to work of the suspended and fired colleagues, which is at the top of the workers’ demands, and with slogans such as “The worker dies, but will not accept humiliation”, “Implementation of assimilation without trickery” pursued their announced demands.

The latest reports shows that the management is forced to return the dismissed workers to work. This is an important achievement for workers. However, the strike continues due to other demands of the workers.

As we have already reported, on Thursday, on the sixth day of Ahvaz steel workers’ protests, a meeting was held at the request of the management and government officials with the presence of representatives of the provincial labor department and the National Bank, several government agencies and elected representatives of the workers. The workers had announced that they would negotiate, but they would not compromise with anyone on their demands.. According to the latest news, on the same day, the independent voice of Ahvaz National Steel Group workers announced that this meeting, like the previous negotiations, did not have an acceptable result for the workers and that this matter was already clear to them. This meeting has ended after hours of talks.

The workers have declared that “the proposals and percentages presented in today’s meeting have not been and will not be accepted by us workers in any way. Also on: the full implementation of the classification plan, the equalization of rights similar to Oxin steel, the signing of contracts for the workers of Shafaq Company, participation in the management and the removal of ownership from National Bank and the return to work of the all dismissed colleagues.

The last one has been successfully achieved and the dismissed workers have return to work, However the united struggle of all 3000 workers continues to achieve the rest of the demands.
