Retirees in Tehran and Kermanshah, Shiraz nurses, sodium carbonate workers strike
– Today, June 11, a large number of retirees gathered in Tehran to protest against poverty, corruption and insecurity, as well as for the lack of full implementation of ratings and end-of-service bonuses, to pursue their demands in front of the Program and Budget Organization. Retirees of year 2021 also participated in today’s rally in continuation of the rally of the previous day. In this protest gathering, the presence of women was significant and the shouting of protest slogans echoed in the street.
– On June 11, national retirees in Kermanshah together with retirees of social security, telecommunications and medical sciences protested against poverty, inflation and high prices, low wages, corruption and looting, and discrimination and inequality and the government’s war against women to push back the whole society’ protests. They gathered in front of the pension fund of the province and chanted their protest slogans. An important issue of their protest is the non-implementation of equalization of salaries. The implementation of equalization and its increase above the subsistence basket rate of 30 million tomans/ month and free treatment are two key demands of retirees. In this protest rally, the retirees chanted slogans such as: “Shout, shout against injustice!”, “Unemployment, inflation, enemy of the people!”, “The imprisoned teacher should be released, “the imprisoned worker should be freed!”, and “unity against poverty and corruption”.
– On June 11, the workers of Kaveh Sodium Carbonate Company of Firoozabad went on strike and gathered for the third day in protest of the low level of their salaries.
– On June11, the fired workers of Petrochemical of Arghavan Gostar in Ilam also gathered and protested.
– Yesterday, June 10, nurses in Shiraz once again gathered in front of the governor’s office to protest against the low level of salaries, the discriminatory and selective implementation of the tariff law, heavy work pressure, forced and cheap overtime, and arrears of several months. Nurses chanted: “Nurse shout, shout your right”, and “Nurse is awake, hates discrimination”.
