Oil contract workers are on strike in more than 116 oil and gas centers

by admin_shahla

Today, July 1, the strike of nearly 30,000 contract oil project workers continues in more than 116 oil and gas companies. The Council for Organizing Protests of Oil Contract Workers has announced on its Telegram channel that ten thousand more workers have joined these strikes and writes: “Raising our voice of protest against decades of slave labor rule in oil centres and looting by contractors, we announced in government election that “Vote no vote”. They set up their voting ballots inside the meeting hall of petrochemicals and oil sites, but there was no sign of the project colleagues. No one voted!

According to the reports, the contractors have tried hard to break the ranks of the striking workers by hiring new workers, but despite the offer of higher wages, no one has been willing to accept their offer in place of the striking workers. The organizing council of oil contract workers’ protests expresses the urgent demands of oil project workers in this strike as follows: “salary Increase and the immediate implementation of a 35% increase in salaries at all wage levels by taking to account the 45% inflation rate, 14 working days, 14 days of rest and removal of contractors. In addition, we are pursuing our unanswered demands regarding improving the conditions of the dormitories, the food quality, safety of the work environment and our other demands”.

We call on all unions and workers to actively support the demands and protests of oil project workers, and widely echo their strike and protest.
