Today, Saturday, 27th July, formal oil workers gathered at Pars Oil and Gas Company in Asaluyeh to pursue their demands. Formal oil workers have been protesting since October last year, and due to the lack of response to their demands, their protests took on wider dimensions this week. The main demands of these workers are dismissal of incompetent and corrupt officials, removal of the salary cap, removal of the limitation of retirement pays, full implementation of Article 10 and payment of back pay of Article 1, non-separation of the three operational jobs and revision of the pension fund statute.
Along with formal workers, the strike of 24,000 oil project workers also continues. These workers have announced that they will continue their strikes if they do not receive an answer to their demands for an increase in wages, 14 days of work and 14 days of rest, and the removal of contractors and other livelihood and work demands.
