Today, August 27, we witnessed more nurses joined the protests and gatherings in different cities of the country. Nurses want immediate fulfilment of all their demands.
Some cities that nurses are in strike include:
Abadan, Arak, Abadeh, Tehran, Ahvaz, Islamabad West, Isfahan, Eqlid, Bandar Abbas, Bushehr, Birjand, Tabriz, Jahorm, Chabahar, Darab, Dehdasht, Rasht, Rafsanjan, Zanjan, Sirjan, Shahrekord, Shiraz, Fasa, Qazvin, Karaj , Kermanshah, Kangan, Lamerd, Marivan, Mashhad, Neishabur, Hamadan, Yasouj, Yazd, Babol, Khorramabad, Khomeinishahr, Sabzevar and Gorgan. These are among the cities where nurses’ protests are going on. .
After summoning, arresting and threatening the protesting nurses in Iran, citizens and workers and retirees’ organisations are supporting the nurses’ protests.
The nurses’ strikes are nationwide and started from Karaj city on July 30th, and spread to more than fifty cities. Nurses want to increase wages, stop forced overtime, improve working conditions and reduce work pressure. Nurses emphasize on increasing the employment of new nurses.
