by admin_shahla

Workers’ protests in the oil industry are becoming more widespread every day. Today, September 17, the workers of Mahshahr Petrochemical Terminals and Tanks gathered and protested for the second day. These workers protested against the non-implementation of changing the status of employees in accordance with the neighboring companies, non-implementation of the job classification plan for contractor personnel, non-payment of Petro-card (a credit card that is supposed to provide by Petrochemical Industries Services Company (POSCO) to employees and their families), deduction of productivity bonuses, frequent problems in timely payment of social insurance premiums, non-payment of their overtime payments, and some other requests.

Yesterday, there occurred many protests by formal oil workers in various oil and gas centers. Today these workers gathered at Fajr Jam Gas Refining Company, South Pars Oil and Gas Company Site 1, and Pars Kangan Oil and Gas Company Site 2 and at the forty oil platforms to pursue their demands. In these protests, the workers raised their voice by marching and chanting “fair pays are our inalienable right”.

The main demands of the formal oil workers are: complete removal of the salary ceiling, removal of the limitation of retirement benefits, return of excess tax deductions, non-encroachment on the pension fund of oil workers, separation of jobs in operational areas, and refund of the excess tax withheld. .
