Nurses’ protests and rallies continue

Following the nationwide protests by nurses, today, November 24, the medical staff of Apadana Hospital in Ahvaz held a protest rally to protest the delay in payment of salaries and the three-hour wait for patients and their companions.

Also on November 23, all health workers in the healthcare network in Shadegan gathered at the healthcare network in Shadegan to protest the non-payment of the approved allowance by the Ministry of Health, the failure to restore salaries, and discrimination in payments, holding protest banners.

A new round of protests and strikes by nurses and medical staff on the eve of Nurse’s Day is going on in nearly twenty cities in Iran.

The urgent demands of nurses and medical staff, according the priority, are:

1. Amending the legal rule of nurses’ salaries and medical staff in line with inflation (job rights, employee rights, etc., the salary received should not be less than 30 million Tomans)

2. Establishing a special emergency pay, times 3 and including it in the rule

3. Strict implementation of the nursing tariff

4. Implementation of difficult and harmful jobs

5. Prohibiting forced overtime to improve the quality of human resource services

6. Creating job security
