Dec 23: telecom retirees and formal oil workers continue their protests

by admin_shahla

On Decemebr 23, telecom retirees gathered and protested against poverty, insecurity, and embezzlement by the Executive Headquarters and the Revolutionary Guard Cooperative (owners of the telecommunications company) and in protest of the fact that their demands remained unanswered. These gatherings were held in the cities of Sanandaj, Ilam, Kermanshah, Bijar, and Rasht.

In the gatherings on this day, telecom retirees angrily chanted slogans: “The cruel shareholder has taken our rights,” “The Executive Headquarters has taken our rights,” “Lying manager!, where are the results of your promises,” “Shout out, retirees!, shout out your rights,” “Only on the floor of the street we’ll get our rights,” “Pensions pay, only for a week,” and “Until we get our rights, we will come on Mondays.”

Another news today concerns the continuation of protests by formal oil workers at the Offshore Company in Lavan to pursue their demands. Formal  oil workers are still pursuing their demands, and their most important demands include: eliminating unfair deductions and paying full benefits, eliminating the retirement ceiling and paying full annuities, returning collected taxes, fully implementing Article 10 and paying full back pay, and not merging the oil pension fund with other bankrupt funds.
