Letter to the people from family of Behnam Ebrahim Zadeh
To the noble people of the world
Behnam is not a criminal. Behnam defends human rights.
As you know Behnam (Asad) Ebrahim Zadeh was arrested on 12th December 2018. Behnam is a workers’ right and children’s right activist. He has always defended human rights and for that he already endured seven years prison sentence.
After his release, Behnam continued to stand up for his belief. He has been busy with helping the victims of the earthquake in Kermanshah and Sarpol-e Zohab.
On 20th November 2018, our dear Behnam was sentenced in an “absent court” (without his presence) to 18 months imprisonment for accusation of “propaganda against the regime”. The evidence for which the court sentenced him for were distribution of news about dire situation of the people who have been affected by the earthquake and reporting the tragic situation of the children in the area.
We, the family of Behnam Ebrahim Zadeh ask everyone to defend Behnam and stand in solidarity with us and condemn his prison sentence and arrest.
We call on everyone to help us free Bhnam. Behnam is not a criminal. Behnam is a defender of humanity. Behnam’s place is not prison. Behnam must be free immediately.
