According to the news published by the Council for Organizing council of Protests of Contractual Oil Workers’ Protests, today, Saturday, November 4, the workers of Aghajari Oil and Gas Exploitation continued their gathering and protests, against livelihood attacks and the failure of the management to fulfil their demands. These protests are being started weeks ago.
The complete elimination of the salary ceiling, the elimination of the limitation of retirement years, the return of excess tax deductions, the payment of Article 10 back pay, are the urgent demands of these workers. These formal workers are also protesting the authorities’ embezzlements from their pension fund.
The Aghajari Oil and Gas Company workers have given an ultimatum to the oil officials that they will not remain silent regarding the theft and embezzlement from the pension fund. Protests are widespread in this key economic centre. Protests in oil affect the change in the balance of power in favour of nationwide protests in Iran against the government. The demands and struggles of oil workers should be widely supported.
