Strikes of Oil National drilling workers, Abadan oil refinery and petrochemical workers

Protests in oil are widespread in Iran. According to the news published by the organizing council of the protests of oil contract workers, on Wednesday, October 4, the contract workers of the Ministry of Oil, including national drilling contractors and Abadan oil refinery workers, gathered and protested their unpaid demands, in front of the management building of the Ahvaz Southern oilfields.

According to another news from this council, on this day, the workers working in Abadan Petrochemical gathered for the second day due to non-payment of their wages for six months, as well as the increase in debts of this complex, which has led to siopage of parts of the activities of this complex. Among the other protests of these workers is about the 40% recruitment fee which was paid in the past and now its payment has been stopped and the company managers say that they are not able to pay it. According to the same report, the workers of the overhaul department of this petrochemical company went on strike and gathered on 4th and 5th October, in protest against the non-payment of their wages and insurance premiums for 5-6 months.
