On November 26, as every Sunday since announcing the “protest Sundays”, the official workers of the Continental Plateau Oil Company (Falat Ghareh), Siri and the workers of Aghajari Oil and Gas Exploitation Company gathered and protested against the livelihood attacks and the no answer to their demands. The complete removal of the salary cap, the removal of the limitation of retirement benefits, the return of excess tax deductions, the full implementation of Article 10, including the increase in the grade and appraisal percentage, and non-encroachments on the pension fund, are among the urgent demands of these workers.
Protests in oil are still widespread and other sectors working in this key labor center, including contract workers, are following their protests against all kinds of slavery labour contracts with the demand to formalize and direct employment in the oil company and removal of contractors. The protests of the oil workers have had a wide reflection and support in the society.
