Today, November 26, social security pensioners gathered in the cities of Ahvaz, Shush, Arak and Kermanshah as usual on Sundays. In Shush, retirees from the cities of Karkheh, Karun and Shush gathered and then together began a march and chanted: “Only by coming out to the street we can get our right.”
In Kermanshah, retirees announced their demands with their slogans and banners emphasizing the unity of different sectors of retirees and employed employees.
On this day, steel retirees too gathered in Tehran and Isfahan, as in previous weeks, with common demands with social security retirees and protesting their poor living conditions.
One topic of these protests and gatherings are the protest against the so-called “Seventh Development” plan of the government, which is an attack on the lives of retirees and different sections of the society. Retirees are demanding an increase in income and free health insurance, and are protesting the theft of pension funds by the government.
In recent weeks, we have witnessed that in some cases the retirees and employed workers are joining together and protest simultaneously and united.
