Dear Mr Landini!
Greetings
We have learned that you together with Mr Pierpaolo Bombardieri, Secretary-general of UIL have announced a general strike for November 29th in protest against the austerity policies of the Italian government. The first place that politicians in power in different countries always find to cut budgets is by cutting public and social services. Unless they encounter resistance, protests and confrontation from the unions and the people.
Free Them Now (FTN), the campaign to free jailed workers in Iran welcomes and strongly supports your decision to confront the austerity policies of the Italian government. We have experienced the worst types of austerity policies by the Islamic regime in Iran for years, and workers, teachers, nurses and pensioners are constantly struggling and fighting against these policies. United and social struggle is the only way for all of us workers to confront the austerity projects.
With solidarity
