Today, September 2, more than three weeks have passed since the start of strike by more than two thousand Arak machinery workers.

These workers are protesting against the low level of salaries and non-payment of wages and slave-like work conditions. So far, the management has not responded to the demands of the workers. But the workers’ strike has seriously damaged the production in this factory. This week, Saturday and Sunday, which are working days in Iran, were declared closed by the management. This is an attempt by the management of Arak Machinery to cover up the workers’ strike.

The workers have announced that they will continue their protest until their demands are answered. Increasing salaries and eliminating contracting companies, and recruiting workers under the supervision of contractors by the factory itself are among the urgent demands of these workers. In this strike, the workers of all sectors, including assembly, construction and metallurgical boiler equipment, are involved.

In these protests, the workers chanted: “We don’t want an unworthy manager”, ” workers Shout!, shout your rights”.

Arak Machinery is an old and big factory and the largest designer and manufacturer of production devices for petrochemical complexes, gas refineries, oil refineries, bridges, hydroelectric power plants, wind power plants and cement factories in Iran and the Middle East. that in addition to producing machinery and equipment for oil and gas industries, it makes machinery for dams, power plants and cement industries; It also produces equipment and machinery for steel industries, railway industries, automotive industries, food industries, transportation, ports and mines.

The strike of these workers has so far left a heavy cost on the shoulders of employers and contractors.
