1. Telecom Retirees Protest in Several Cities
On Monday, September 7, retired employees of Iran’s Telecommunications Company held protests in several cities, including Isfahan, Kermanshah, Ilam, Hamadan and Khorramabad, over worsening living conditions, unpaid benefits and their unresolved demands.
Protesters called for the implementation of pension regulations and a court ruling concerning their benefits, fair pension adjustments, supplementary health insurance, and payment of outstanding claims.
Among the slogans chanted were: “Retiree, rise up to end discrimination,” “Our rights can only be won in the streets,” and accusations against major shareholders and affiliated institutions over the alleged failure to pay their due benefits.
2. Pouya Nakh Workers Protest in Ilam
Workers of the Pouya Nakh factory in Ilam gathered outside the provincial governorate on Monday, September 7, protesting their uncertain employment status, the factory’s ongoing crisis and deteriorating living conditions.
The workers say they have been unemployed for more than a year without receiving their employment-related rights and benefits. They are demanding action to resolve the factory’s situation and secure their livelihoods.
3. Motorcycle Couriers Protest in Arak
A group of motorcycle couriers in Arak stopped working on Monday, September 7, and launched a protest across the city over low delivery fares and high commission charges.
The couriers said current fares do not cover the rising costs of fuel, motorcycle repairs, maintenance and daily living expenses, while a significant portion of their earnings is deducted as commission.
4. Mehvar Gostar Nasr Workers Protest Forced Transfer
On Sunday, September 6, 115 workers of Mehvar Gostar Nasr in Sirjan protested a company decision that would require them to relocate to road-construction projects in Mehran or Jask following the completion of the Sirjan project.
The workers went to the governorate and Labor Department to object to the decision, saying those who cannot relocate would have to settle their accounts and lose their jobs. Many of the workers are married, live in Sirjan and have long employment records, with some having more than 11 years of service.
5. Nurses Protest in Sanandaj
Nurses Hold Protest Outside Kurdistan Governorate
On Sunday, September 6, a group of nurses and healthcare workers from Kurdistan Province gathered outside the provincial governorate in Sanandaj to protest their employment and economic conditions.
Their complaints include low wages, discrimination in the payment of performance-based bonuses, delays in payments at many medical centers, heavy workloads and compulsory overtime. The protest is part of a wider series of demonstrations by nurses and healthcare workers across Iran.
