Oil and petrochemical oil workers continue their gatherings and protests. today and yesterday we witnessed protests and gatherings in different platforms in several oil and petrochemical productions areas. On 23th October official workers of the Ministry of Petroleum, working in Continental Plateau Oil Company (Falat e Qarreh), gathered in Behrgansar and Abu Dhar sea platforms to protest against the government’s livelihood attacks and non-response to their demands and emphasized all their demands and their determination to continue their struggle.
The complete removal of the salary cap and the return of the tax deductions imposed on the workers are two urgent demands of these workers. In this regard, the official oil workers working in the Continental Plateau Oil Company gathered in the operating area of Khark Island and Siri region as well as in the Aghajari Oil and Gas Exploitation Company.
The oil environment is very inflamed and thousands of official and contract workers are protesting and rallying these days. These protests are getting wider every day and their scope extends to different oil sectors. The protest against livelihood attacks, the prevail and existence of predatory contractors and various forms of work contracts and the oil security environment are the subjects of nationwide protests in oil.
With their protests, the oil workers represent the demands of the all workers in the country, and these protests can be a platform for nationwide strikes.
These protests have an important political effect in advancing the labor movement and empowering the atmosphere of struggle against the Islamic mafia regime. We call on all the workers organisations and unions in the world to support the oil and petrochemical workers in Iran . .
