On Thursday, October 19, official workers working in Aghajari Oil and Gas Exploitation Company gathered to pursue their demands. These workers had a rally yesterday and have announced that they will continue their protests until their demands are met.

A new round of protests by official oil workers has begun. In the past weeks, these workers gathered in the companies and oil and gas platforms of the Continental Plateau, Masjed Soleyman, and Aghajari. Oil rig workers had set Mondays and Aghajari on Sundays to hold their protest rallies. Now the protests are going to continue every day and the official workers of Aghajari Oil and Gas Exploitation Company have announced that they will continue to protest until their demands are fulfilled.

Official oil workers are protesting the low level of salaries and the reduction of their income, heavy taxes and limiting the payment of pension benefits to 30 years even if the workers have worked for more years, and pension deductions.

The immediate demands announced by these workers are: removal of the salary cap, removal of the limitation of retirement years and return of excess tax deductions. Official oil workers have announced that they will continue their protests until their demands are met.

On the other hand, the contract workers of the Third Oil Pillars (Arkan e Sales) have also held numerous protests demanding the removal of contractors from oil centres. Protests in oil are widespread at the moment. The daily gatherings of the official workers is a sign of the growing protests of  the workers in the oil industry.

The Mondays of protest, which have been determined by the official workers of the oil Continental Plateau, can become the day of the united struggle of the oil workers in all the oil centres.
