Long Live May Day – International Workers’ Day

by admin_shahla

May Day is approaching. International Workers’ Day is a day of struggle for a humane life. It is a day against the denial of rights, poverty, and the oppression of workers and all people by parasitic capitalists and tyrannical rulers. It is a day to raise the banner of freedom, equality, and well-being for all.

In today’s Iran, Workers’ Day has a special meaning. Across the country, various sectors of the working class are in constant conflict with the looters and violators of human dignity. Oil workers, Haft Tappeh and steel workers, miners, retirees from different sectors, nurses, teachers—as well as people with disabilities, farmers, justice seekers, and the general public—are compelled to constantly fight the Islamic capitalist rulers to defend their lives, rights, and livelihoods, and to collectively push back against the assaults of these criminals and looters. They are forced to stand firm against the machinery of backwardness, executions, and brutality, and liberate life inch by inch from their grip.

A vast and widespread mass movement for livelihood, well-being, and human dignity is underway in Iran. Every day we witness protests, gatherings, and slogans raised in pursuit of a humane life. Oil, steel, Haft Tappeh, hospitals, various labor centers, universities, streets, and society as a whole are in turmoil. The slogan “Livelihood, dignity, justice – our inalienable right” is being chanted everywhere.

May 1st is the day of this struggle. It is the day of this exciting reality. It is the day of the “Woman, Life, Freedom” revolution that rose up three years ago and now continues, not just in street uprisings, but in many diverse forms across all aspects of life—seeking once and for all to bring humanity, equality, freedom, and well-being into this society and to end the rule of the inhumane, reactionary, exploitative capitalist class.

The Campaign to Free Imprisoned Workers (FREE THEM NOW) welcomes this day with enthusiasm and passion. Today, Iran can serve as a powerful example for the region and even beyond. The hopeful horizon of ending the hated Islamic regime and Islamic terrorism, and the crisis-ridden and unjust capitalist system, is now clearly visible.

We call on all workers, teachers, retirees, students, people with disabilities, nurses, and the public at large to raise the banner of May 1st – International Workers’ Day. Let the slogan “Free all political prisoners!” echo everywhere. Let the slogan “Dignity, livelihood, justice – our inalienable right” ring out in all protests and gatherings. A humane, safe, and free life is the right of every citizen and every person. Workers’ Day is the day of such a movement. It is a day of determination to end oppression, crime, poverty, and plunder. It is a day of freedom and humane life.

The Campaign to Free Imprisoned Workers in Iran stands alongside all workers in Iran and around the world and defends by every means the struggles of all progressive sectors of workers and people against the capitalists and ruling elites. We call on workers in all countries to show solidarity and support the struggles of workers and people in Iran.
