On behalf of 52,000 members of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), I am writing to you to demand the immediate and unconditional release of Behnam Ebrahimzadeh, a well-known child rights and human rights activist. He was arrested last August 17 and transferred to the Kermanshah Information Office.
According to the latest news, his family, worried about his situation, has gone to Kermanshah to follow up on the situation in Behnam to get news. They did not received any information.
It is not the first time that CUPW writes a letter to protest the imprisonment of activists and workers in Iran. Another case is Mohammed Habibi, Iranian teacher trade unionist who was sentenced on August 4 2018 to ten and a half years in prison.
These activists are standing up to represent and defend the people of the Iranian country. They are the voices of the children, the women, the poor and all the workers of Iran. You have to listen to them. It is why CUPW is joining his voice to the thousands around the world calling for the immediate release of Behnam Ebrahimzadeh, Mohammad Habibi and all political prisoners in Iran. We demand their immediate and unconditional release.
Sincerely,
Mike Palecek National President DL/lg cope 225
