We are pleased to report that Behnam Ebrahimzadeh,well-known children’s and workers’ right activist and has been released on bail.
Behnam was arrested for helping the victims of Sarpol-e Zohab earthquake and reporting their situation on social media. After spending 35 days in solitary confinement he was released on 4th March 2019.
On 24th February 2019, Behnam was tried to “disrupting order and national security” in branch 26 of Islamic Revolutionary Court. The sentence of the trial has not been announced yet.
We congratulate Behnam’s family and friends and everyone who fought for his release.
We call on all international workers’ and humanist organisations to demand abolish of all the security cases against workers, teachers, and other civil right activists in Iran, and demand immediate and unconditional release of all the jailed workers and activists.
