Parvin Mohamadi has been released on bail. Jafar Azimzadeh is serving 6 years prison

by admin_shahla

We are pleased to report that Parvin Mohamadi, deputy director of Independent Union of Workers in Iran, and well-known workers’ leader, who spent over one month in custody was released on bail on 4th March 2019.

We congratulate Ms Sharafodin, Parvin’s mother who passionately and fearlessly defended her daughter and all the political prisoners. Also congratulations to Parvin’s sister and friends and everyone who fought for her freedom. Without the campaign and everyday resistance she wouldn’t have been released.

Parvin Mohammadi and Jafar Azimzadeh, director of Independent Union of Workers in Iran, were arrested for accusations of “propaganda against the regime” and “actions against national security”. The accusations are for their defence of workers’ rights and entitlement of everyone to a humane life.

Parvin has been released but Jafar Azimzadeh is behind bars with 6 years prison sentence.

Jafar Azimzadeh must be freed immediately and unconditionally! All the security cases against the activists must be abolished. Defending workers’ rights and demanding a humane life isn’t a crime.

We call on everyone to increase the pressure on Islamic Republic of Iran to free all the jailed workers and political prisoners.
