Rasoul Bodaghi, a former political prisoner and a member of the board of directors of the Islamshahr Cultural Association, has been sentenced to five years in prison by a preliminary court in the Islamic Republic. Rasoul Bodaghi was sentenced to four years in prison on charges of conspiracy and one year on charges of propaganda. Rasoul Bodaghi has also been banned from leaving the country and staying in Tehran and all neighbouring provinces for two years.
The rulings have provoked a wave of protests among the teachers, retirees and social activists. One issue of teachers protesting at their first nationwide rally this year on May 1 is protesting the escalation of security pressures, the continued detention of imprisoned teachers, and the filing of security cases and the issuance of prison sentences for protesting teachers.
In addition, the escalation of security pressures on teachers, and in particular the rulings handed down to Rasoul Bodaqi, had global repercussions, with Swedish trade unions condemning the ruling in a statement and calling for its immediate repeal. “The sentencing of Rasoul Bodaqi is inhumane and should be overturned in an appeal court. Rasoul Bodaqi should not have to pay more to defend teachers’ rights. This is a call that has been made in recent days,” the statement said. “It has been voiced by militant teachers and teachers’ organizations across the country, and its call will be definitely louder on May 1. “It is better for the judicial authorities and the Iranian government to respond to this call and to repeal this sentence and all the unjust sentences against the protesting teachers as soon as possible.” In conclusion, the Swedish Trade Unions Platform has aligned itself with justice-seeking and libertarian teachers, and has called for the immediate reversal of the verdicts against Rasoul Bodqi, and emphasized on following points:
* Immediate release of all imprisoned labor activists, civil employees and teachers
* Ratification and implementation of the UN Convention on Human Rights, Convention No. 26 and UNSCRs 1 and 2
* Trade union organizations and elected representatives and their members should be allowed to operate without fear of violence, and threats of imprisonment and dismissal

Free Them Now (FTN) the campaign to free jailed workers in in along with teachers and protesting people in Iran, has expressed its broad support for teachers’ protests and demands, and is trying to make their voices heard around the world. Free Them Now announces a global campaign in solidarity with the struggles of teachers in Iran and at the international level, and strives for it, and calls on all sections of the labor and people in Iran to support this campaign.
FTN expects the greatest support from trade unions worldwide. Imprisoned teachers and all political prisoners must be released immediately and unconditionally. The security cases filed against Rasoul Bodaqi and all political activists should be closed and the court rulings issued for them should be revoked.

احکام صادره برای رسول بداقی را محکوم میکنیم
رسول بداقی زندانی سیاسی سابق و از اعضای هیات مدیره ی کانون صنفی فرهنگیان اسلامشهر، در دادگاه بدوی جمهوری اسلامی به پنج سال زندان محکوم شده است. رسول بداقی به اتهام اجتماع و تبانی.به چهار سال حبس و به اتهام فعالیت تبلیغی به یک سال محکوم شده است. رسول بداقی همچنین به منع خروج از کشور و منع اقامت در تهران و تمام استانهای هم جوار به مدت دو سال محکوم گردیده است. این احکام با موجی از اعتراض در میان معلمان، بازنشستگان و فعالین اجتماعی روبرو شده است. یک موضوع اعتراض معلمان در اولین تجمع سراسری آنها در سال جاری در یکم اردیبهشت ماه اعتراض به تشدید فشار های امنیتی، ادامه بازداشت معلمان دربند و پرونده سازیهای امنیتی و صدور احکام زندان برای معلمان معترض است. بعلاوه تشدید فشارهای امنیتی بر روی معلمن ومشخصا احکام صادره برای رسول بداقی بازتاب جهانی داشته و از جمله سندیکاهای کارگری سوئد طی بیانیه ای این حکم را محکوم کرده وخواستار لغو فوری آن شدند. در بخشی از این بیانیه چنین آمده است: ” صدور حکم زندان علیه رسول بداقی ضد انسانی است و این حکم در دادگاه تجدید نظر باید لغو شود. رسول بداقی نباید هزینه بیشتری برای دفاع از حقوق معلمان بپردازد. این بانگی است که طی چند روزه اخیر توسط معلمان مبارز و تشکل های معلمان در سراسر کشور به صدا در آمده است و بانگ آن در روز اول ماه مه رساتر خواهد شد. مقامات قضایی و دولت ایران بهتر است در پاسخگویی به این بانگ هر چه زودتر این حکم و همه احکام ناعادلانه علیه معلمان معترض و حق خواه را لغو کنند”. در خاتمه پلاتفرم سندیکاهای کارگری سوئد خود را با معلمان عدالتخواه و آزادیخواه همصدا دانسته و بر مطالبه لغو فوری احکام صادره علیه رسول بدقی تاکید کرده و بر مطالبات زیر تاکید کرده :
* آزادی فوری همه فعالین کارگری, مد نی و معلمان زندانی
* تصویب و اجرای مقاوله نامه های حقوق بشر سازمان ملل، مقاوله نامه ۲٣ و مقاوله نامه های ٨٧ و ٩٨ سازمان جهانی کار
* سازمانهای کارگری سندیکایی و نمایندگان منتخب و اعضای آنها بدون ترس از خشونت، تهدید زندان و اخراج از کار اجازه فعالیت داشته باشند
