I loudly and proudly express our solidarity with your women’s revolution. On behalf of the more than 85000 BCGEU members, I salute the women, and all people of Iran.
As a woman and a women’s rights activist, I cannot tell you how proud I am of you. How inspired by your courage and determination to make the changes you need to see in your country, for your families, for your friends, for yourselves.
Your voice, your struggle and your fight for freedom, equality and prosperity has been seen and heard all over the world.
Here in Vancouver, Canada, we gather to stand with you. We are proud of our support through our connection with “Free Them Now” supporting labour activists in Iran.
I have just learned that the oil workers started their strike in support of the ongoing uprising in Iran. It is important that the labour movement stands with all other social justice movements and progressive forces for freedom and a just world.
