Sharifeh Mohammadi, one of the labor activists, is still in detention. She was arrested on December 5th 2023 in Rasht city while she was going to her work. And on the December 31 ,2023, she was transferred to Sanandaj prison. Siros Fathi’s wrote about his wife’s condition: “After 26 days of not knowing about the health of my dear Sharifeh, today I heard her pleasant voice from the phone of Sanandaj prison. When I went to Lakan prison in Rasht to inquire about her condition, they did not tell me that she was transferred to Sanandaj. Even the investigator of the fourth branch of the prosecutor’s office did not give me any information about this transfer and prevented me from entering the prosecutor’s office. They also did not accept the lawyer that we introduced to pursue her case. My Sharifeh has not done anything wrong except living an honourable life and loving her fellow human beings, and family. Every accusation against her is absurd, baseless and false. I don’t know why they should take her away from her young child and family based on false accusations.”
Free Them Now (FTN) condemns the continued arrest of Sharifeh Mohammadi, a well-known and popular labor activist, and insists on her immediate and unconditional release. Sharifeh Mohammadi and all political prisoners have to be released immediately.
