5th February: protests of retirees, farmers, electrical workers, and disabled

Today, 05th of February, telecommunication retirees gathered and protested in severla cities in continuation of their weekly protest gatherings, to pursue their demands. According to the latest reports, these rallies were held in the cities of Tibriz, Urmia, Ardabil, Kermanshah, Sanandaj, Bandar Abbas, Rasht, Ahvaz, Kerman, and Tehran.

In Ahvaz, the pensioners marched and chanted “From Khuzestan to Tehran, death to these managers!”, “We will not calm down until we get our rights”, and “We will create a storm unless we get our rights”. These rallies created a passionate scene of protest.

Retirees chanted slogans against the responsible authorities, against thefts and embezzlements and protested for their poor living conditions.

On this day, the farmers of Isfahan too, once again protested against the dire situation of their lives and the lack of agricultural water, and demanded that the promises made be implemented.

On the same day, the workers of Sahand Benab power plant also went on strike and protested because of their poor living conditions and the delay in paying their wages for eight months. The striking workers were threatened with dismissal by the management. But they emphasized on pursuing their demands.

  Another  protest news is related to the fired workers of Dez dam power plant, who gathered for the 8th day in protest of their job and living conditions. Their protests continue while this report is published.

The latest news is that today, the 05th of February, the disabled people from the cities of Sanandaj, Sari, Ardabil, Bojnoord, Karaj, and Tehran and suburbs  decided to gather in Tehran in front of the presidential office, to protest their miserable living and medical conditions .They were prevented by the security forces from holding a rally on the side of this office, but held their rally in  Pastor Park. The protests of disabled people continue to pursue their rightful demands.
