Gatherings of Formal Oil Workers in Various Southern Regions

Today, on September 1st, permanent oil workers gathered in different oil and gas regions in the south to pursue their demands. South Pars Oil and Gas, Fajr Jam Gas Refinery, South Pars Oil and Gas Assaluyeh Site 1, Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) Kangan Site 2, the 40 offshore platforms of POGC, the Seventh Refinery of the South Pars Gas Complex (SPGC), the Assaluyeh Special Economic Zone, and Aghajari Oil and Gas Production Company were among the locations where these gatherings took place. In these protests, workers voiced their demands with unified chants.

The protests of permanent oil workers have expanded and now span across different days of the week. Their main demands include:

  • Reform of the wage and salary system
  • Full payment of wages
  • Removal of unfair deductions
  • Implementation of the employment contract
  • Elimination of wage caps
  • Full enforcement of Article 10
  • Ending the division of jobs into “specialized” and “supportive” categories in operational areas
