In continuation of the daily protests of different sections of retirees, today, the 26th of July, telecom retirees gathered and protested in several cities. These gatherings were held in front of the telecommunication offices as a continuation of the Monday protests against poverty, high prices and insecurity and to follow up their other demands. Telecommunications retirees protests and gatherings were held in the cities of Ilam, Hormozgan, Khorram Abad, Arak, Sari, Sanandaj, Isfahan and Shahr e Kord City. In these gatherings, the retirees addressed the authorities and announced that they will continue their gatherings until their demands are fulfilled and they do get their rights. Among other things, telecommunications retirees are demanding the full implementation of personnel and employment regulations and solving health insurance problems, and they are emphasizing on raising salaries above the poverty line, which is at least &800/month today, and free healthcare.Also, on the 25th of July, retired teachers gathered in Yazd to protest against the low level of salaries and demanded equalization and increase of salaries to an acceptable level and free healthcare and other demands. A protest slogan of retired teachers in their gatherings has been the release of imprisoned teachers, imprisoned workers and all political prisoners.
